C25K: Week 1, Day 2
Okay, yes, I am as out of shape as I thought. The second day of the Couch to 5K plan was a lot more difficult. I’m fairly certain I only made it through the first day so well because I was hopped up on adrenaline from the excitement of it all. Other excuses I’m giving myself to account for my poorer performance include stress at work, the fact I forgot to pack myself a lunch, and the workout I essentially got by helping the kiddos in their PE class. Those are all valid, right?
Today I went running at the park near my house and felt a bit out of place amidst all the other runners who were obviously much more in shape than I. But I suppose they had to start out like me, so there’s hope. At least I finished the full run/walk, so that’s something.
Probably won’t be able to get in my third run of the week until most likely Friday. Hopefully the rest of this week won’t be as stressful, necessitating a run to work it out in a more constructive way. As for now, though, I’m going to go catch up on some reading, edit my autobiographical paper for Wednesday’s class, and take a much needed bath.
